AMARILLO, TX–JULY 28, 2026–One of the elite racetracks in Texas, Lone Star Park, will once again welcome one of the most prestigious American Quarter Horse racing events as it welcomes the AQHA Racing Challenge back in 2027. The event is scheduled for October 23, 2027.

Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas, will become a seven-time host of this event, which this year completes a three-year stint at the Downs at Albuquerque.

“Lone Star Park is a world-class stage for our equine athletes,” said AQHA Chief Racing Officer Janet VanBebber. “We are thrilled for the opportunity to once again bring world-class horses of all divisions together and showcase them on this stage.”

Past AQHA Racing Challenge Championships at Lone Star Park have featured memorable victories by horses such as Kool Kue Baby, Streakin Sin Tacha, Tailor Fit, Remember Me Rose, Sign Of Lanty, and many more.

The AQHA Racing Challenge has, since its inception, paid out more than $120 million to horsemen who support it.

Once enrolled in the AQHA Racing Challenge, a horse is eligible for a lifetime of racing opportunity. This year’s enrollments close December 31.
