TULSA, OK—JUNE 4, 2020—Fair Meadows at Tulsa, Oklahoma, will open its mixed meet with a 10-race program on Friday, June 5. First post time is set for 6 p.m. (CDT).

Fair Meadows will offer straight Thoroughbred programs on Mondays and Tuesdays, and straight Quarter Horse programs on Fridays, Saturdays, and two Sundays (July 12 and closing day July 26).

"This is the first time splitting the breeds up," said Kelly Cathey, executive director of the Oklahoma Racing Commission.

Trials for the APHA Claiming Futurity will head Saturday's 10-race card. Two trials (races 3 and 4) will be run at 330 yards with the 10 fastest qualifiers returning Saturday, June 20th to contest the $25,000-est. final.

All 2-year-olds in the trials are available for a claiming price of $15,000.

Js Shezaquickchick (PT), a daughter of Royal Quick Flash, has been installed as the 5-2 favorite in the first trial (Race 3). The Dee Keener trained filly has compiled a (5) 1-1-0 record . She broke her maiden in her first career start March 6, a trial for the Oklahoma Paint and Appaloosa Hose Futurity at Remington Park. Shirley Wheeler is the owner-breeder.

In the second trial (Race 4) One Famous Grip (PT) has been installed as the 3-1 morning-line favorite. Trainer Tana Caldwell will saddle the son of Readi To Be Famous (QH) for owner-breeder James Nickolas Howard. With only two starts under his belt, One Famous Grip (PT) finished third in his career debut, a maiden race at Remington Park April 17.

All told, there will be 20 dates for Quarter Horses and 14 for Thoroughbreds.

According to the track's website, the meet will be open to spectators, with social-distancing practices in place, including spaced seating and plexiglass shields between patrons and employees such as tellers and bartenders. There also will be hand-sanitizer stations, and additional cleaning protocols have been put in place.

Fair Meadows' Quarter Horse stakes schedule is topped by the July 25, $68,000 Speedhorse Futurity (G3) for 2-year-olds.
