Praire Meadows will host two trials for the 53,395 Iowa Stallion Derby (R) on Friday's race card.

ALTOONA, IA—AUGUST 10, 2020—Eleven sophomores, headed by the multiple stakes placed Rm Okeys Wagon, are entered in Friday’s 400-yard, $53,395 Iowa Stallion Derby (R) at Prairie Meadows.

A bay son of Lil Kool Wagon trained by Wayne Garner for owner Lisa M. Baumeister, Rm Okeys Wagon will be stretching out in distance off of his second-place finish, one length behind winner Cr Hez The Man, in the 350-yard, $59,000 Cyclone Derby (R) for Iowa-breds on July 18. The gelding drew post 3 and will be ridden by Eugenio Navarrete Jr.

Also on Friday, fastest qualifier A Starry Starry Nite will risk his perfect record in the 350-yard, $88,475 Iowa Stallion Futurity (R). A sorrel son of the Stel Corona stallion Racy Casanova trained by Ed Hardy for owner Christine A. Hovey, A Starry Starry Nite is coming off of a 1 1/4-length victory in the second of three Iowa Stallion Futurity trials on July 24. The gelding has won both of his outs and has earned $14,313 this season. A Starry Starry Nite drew post 8 and will be ridden by Eugenio Navarrete Jr.
