SHAKOPEE, MN—AUGUST 19, 2020—Lunderborg LLC’s Dickey Bob, a homebred 5-year-old son of world champion Apollitical Jess, drew post 4 for Tuesday’s 400-yard, $30,000 Cash Caravan Stakes (R) for Minnesota-breds at Canterbury Park.
Dickey Bob is coming off of a head victory as the 3-10 favorite in the 300-yard $31,392 Bob Morehouse Stakes (R) on August 11. Luis Valenzuela will ride the gelding for trainer Jason Olmstead.
Daniel Kjorsvik’s Holy Storm drew post 3 and will be ridden by Julian Serrano for trainer Pat Swan. A homebred 4-year-old Red Storm Cat gelding, Holy Storm will be shortening in distance off of his three-quarter length victory in an 870-yard allowance-optional claiming race at Prairie Meadows on August 10.

Also on Canterbury Park’s nine-race all Quarter Horse program, 13 state-bred 3-year-olds are entered in two 400-yard Minnesota Derby (R) trials. Corey Wilmes’ Vo Fantastic Aira, a gelded son of Fantastic Corona Jr, brings in a two-race win streak that includes a three-quarter length victory in a 350-yard, $12,000 non-winners-of-two allowance dash on August 11.
Vo Fantastic Aira drew post 7 and will be ridden by Ry Eikleberry for trainer Ed Hardy in the second heat.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the September 9, $55,000-added Minnesota Derby final.
Sixteen state-bred juveniles are entered in two 350-yard Minnesota Futurity (R) trials. The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $55,000-added final on September 9.
