Stakes winner Lil Romance Wagon is among the 20 Iowa-bred juveniles entered in Saturday’s 350-yard Jim Bader Futurity (R) trials at Prairie Meadows.

ALTOONA, IA—AUGUST 31, 2020—Stakes winners Lil Romance Wagon and Cr Appollitical Joe are among the 20 Iowa-bred juveniles entered in Saturday’s 350-yard Jim Bader Futurity (R) trials at Prairie Meadows.

Lil Romance Wagon and Cr Appollitical Joe both drew into the first of three heats. A bay son of Lil Kool Wagon trained by Alex Wessels for owner B/B Wessels LLC, Lil Romance Wagon broke his maiden with a 1 1/2-length victory in the 350-yard, $88,475 Iowa Stallion Futurity (R) on August 14.

Lil Romance Wagon has earned $43,457 from three races. The gelding drew post 4 and will be ridden by Ronald Hisby.

Cr Appollitical Joe races for Curt Tobin and Dick Tobin from the barn of trainer Jason Olmstead. A homebred son of world champion Apollitical Jess, the bay gelding has won his last two outs, including the 330-yard, $76,000 Hawkeye Futurity (R) on July 24.

Cr Appollitical Joe drew post 6 and will be ridden by Jesus Salazar.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the $150,000-est. Jim Bader Futurity on September 26.
