Approximately 60 two-yea-olds will be competing for a spot in the finals of the Grade 2 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity on May 12 at Los ALamitos.

Big Night Of Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity Trials Set For This Sunday Night

LOS ALAMITOS, CA–APRIL 15—Los Alamitos will host its first set of futurity trials of the season on Sunday night, April 21 when somewhere around 60 juveniles are expected to compete for a spot in the Grade 2 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity.

The runners with the 10 fastest clockings at 300 yards will advance to the Kindergarten final to be held on Sunday, May 12. Here’s a brief look at some of the young stars likely to race in the trials this Sunday.

The list below is ordered in alphabetical order with the bolded text featuring the name of the horse and his or her most recent race finish or workout from the gate.

AJ Flawless – Worked on March 27 :12.5 at 220 yards
Inside Horse: Filly by Apollitical Jess is from the family of the stakes placed earner of $207k Corona Perfection.

Born In The Blood – Worked on March 29 :12.2 at 220 yards
Colt by Apollitical Blood is from the family of the AQHA champion aged mare Kool Kue Baby, who earned nearly $800,000 in her career. Born In The Blood tied for the seventh fastest of 54 works on March 29.

Bull Market – Worked on March 29 :12.1 at 220 yards
Full brother to the graded stakes placed filly Mornings With Maria, He posted the second fastest of 54 drills on March 29. He also had the fastest of 37 drills on the morning of March 17.

Char Donae – Worked on April 10 :12.5 at 220 yards
Tell Cartel filly is a half-sister to G1 Los Alamitos Oaks winner Asscher. Her dam is Astica, a multiple graded stakes winner of $411k.


Charlee Clair – Worked on March 29 :12.2 at 220 yards
The Idaho-bred filly is owned by Spackman Racing. Longtime owner Kelly Spackman passed away last month, but his name could once again shine brightly at Los Alamitos this weekend.

Closer Still – Won his debut in a 220-yard time of :12.368 on April 6
Owned and bred by Ed Allred, Closer Still scored a nose victory in his debut. He’s the son of Kiddy Up and is from the family of Los Alamitos Two Million winner Worth Doing.

Don Carmello – Worked on April 7 :12.9 at 220 yards
Apollitical Jess colt is out of the Governor’s Cup Futurity winner and $218,000 earner Secretly Hot.

Do The Job – Worked on April 7 :12.6 at 220 yards
Fly Thru The Fire gelding is out of the graded stakes winner Up For It, who has produced stakes winners Up And Atem, Ready For It and She Goes Up.

Eagleflash Corona – Worked on March 29 :12.4 at 220 yards

Colt by Favorite Cartel is a half-brother to 2023 Kindergarten Futurity finalist Brindisi. Jireh’s dam is the graded stakes winner Dash Ta Moon, a winner of over $352k.

Apollitical Jess filly is out of the famous breeding line of First Down Dash. Her dam is First Carolina, a winner of over $415,000 in her brilliant career. Her work on March 29 was the 2nd fastest of 54 drills.
