Speedhorse Futurity Trials Set for Saturday at Fair Meadows at Tulsa

TULSA, OK–JULY 5, 2024–
Sixty-nine 2-year-olds – headed by Finn McOol and stakes winners Perry Fast and Ima Fancy Eye Opener -- are entered in Saturday's 350-yard Speedhorse Futurity (G3) trials at Fair Meadows at Tulsa.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the July 20, $$200,074 Speedhorse Futurity final.

Finn McOol is coming off of a Remington Park spring campaign during which the son of champion Kvn Corona earned $67,979 from four races and ran third, one length behind winner Joose Boxx, in the 300-yard, $502,000 Oklahoma Futurity (G2) on March 23. A $37,000 purchase at last year's Ruidoso Select Yearlilng Sale, the gelding is trained by Dee Keener for owner Planefun LLC.

Finn McOol drew post 3 and will be ridden by Roman Cruz in the first of eight trials.

Perry Fast races for Buckway Ranch from the barn of trainer Eddie Willis. The bay daughter of Corona Cartel is coming off of a half-length victory in the 350-yard, $100,000 Heritage Place Juvenile Invitational Stakes at Remington Park on June 1.

Perry Fast drew post 8 and will be ridden by Jimmy Dean Brooks in the first heat.

Ima Fancy Eye Opener brings in a three-race win streak that includes a nose victory in the 350-yard, $70,000 Easy Jet Stakes RG3) for Oklahoma-bred 2-year-olds at Remington Park on May 25. Rhonda Valdivia trains the Im A Fancy PYC colt for owners Shania Cox and Terry Dale Cox.

Ima Fancy Eye Opener drew post 7 and will be ridden by Bryan Candanosa in the second trial.
