Grade 1 Winner Ezee Monee Faces Older Distaffers in Albuquerque's Balloon City Stakes

ALBUQUERQUE, NM–SEPTEMBER 4, 2024–Ezee Monee, a Grade 1-winning daughter of One Fabulous Eagle racing for Isidro Esparza, will make her 4-year-old season debut in Saturday's 400-yard, $50,000 Balloon City Stakes (G2) for distaffers at Albuquerque Downs.

Ezee Monee will be making her first start since September 29, 2023, when the mare won a 400-yard La Fiesta Derby trial at Albuquerque Downs.

Ezee Monee is coming off of a sophomore campaign during which she earned $592,283 and won the 440-yard, $715,000 All American Oaks, and the 440-yard, $478,000 Rainbow Oaks (G1), both at Ruidoso Downs.

Ezee Monee drew post 6 and will be ridden by Sergio Becerra Jr. for trainer Eric Valenzuela.

Backdoor Thoroughbreds' Fine Am Eye is coming off of a head victory against New Mexico-bred distaffers in the July 4, 350-yard Vista Distaff Stakes (R) at Ruidoso Downs. James Gonzales III trains the 4-year-old Eye Am King mare.

Fine Am Eye drew post 9 and will be ridden by Noe Garcia Jr.
