GRAND PRAIRIE, TX–SEPTEMBER 23, 2024–Hes A Jet One, a graded stakes winning son of EC Jet One racing for Pete Scarmardo of Caldwell, Texas, is one of seven Texas-bred sprinters entered in Friday's 400-yard, $50,000 B.F. Phillips Jr. Stakes (RG3) at Lone Star Park.
Hes A Jet One has won his last two starts, both against state-bred stakes company, including the 400-yard, $67,000 TQHA Classic Stakes (RG2) at Retama Park on July 26. The gelding has won four of his five outs at Lone Star Park.
Hes A Jet One drew post four and will be ridden by Ali Rivera for trainer John Stinebaugh.
Other contenders include Genesis Victoria Tovar's Dollar Bill, a sophomore son of Kiss My Hocks trained by Juan Diaz Jr., and Donna Mushinski's DM Moonpie, a homebred 5-year-old Moonin The Eagle gelding trained by Kie Mushinski. Dollar Bill's season resume includes a second-place finish, a head behind winner SC Time To Run, in the June 1, $239,000 Heritage Place Derby (G2) at Remington Park.
The lone 3-year-old entered in the field, Dollar Bill drew post four and will be ridden by Victor Urieta Jr.
DM Moonpie will be shortening in distance off of his third-place finish, 1 1/2 lengths behind winner Pops First Lady, in the August 16, 440-yard AQHA Retama Championship Challenge (G3) at Retama Park. DM Moonpie drew post two and will be ridden by Luis Vivanco.
