GRAND PRAIRIE, TX–OCTOBER 2, 2024–Asscher, a Grade 1-winning daughter of champion FDD Dynasty racing for Jimmy Barton and Lance Bland, is one of 10 sophomores entered back in Saturday’s 440-yard, $175,000 Dash For Cash Derby G2 at Lone Star Park.

Asscher made her local debut with a third-place finish in one of five trials run on September 13. However, earlier this year, the filly scored a three-quarter length victory in the 400-yard, $404,000 Los Alamitos Oaks (G1), and she ran second, a half of a length behind winner Running To The Moon, in the 440-yard, $482,000 Rainbow Oaks (G1) at Albuquerque Downs.

Asscher was a $350,000 purchase from breeder MJ Farms at the 2022 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. The filly drew post 6 and will be ridden by Noe Garcia Jr. trainer Marc Jungers.

Other Dash For Cash Derby contenders include Robert J. Mashburn’s Woopaa, daughter of the One Famous Eagle stallion Reagal Eagle trained by Jonathan Chavira and the fastest qualifier. Woopaa brings in a four-race win streak that includes a convincing 2 1/4-length victory in the last Dash For Cash Derby trial.

Woopaa drew post 4 and will be ridden by Cordarelton Benn.

Hoztile Takeover won all three of his races during the Delta Downs meet, including the 400-yard, $137,000 Delta Downs Derby (RG3) for Louisiana-breds on July 13. Juan Diaz Jr. trains the One Sweet Jess gelding for owners Amanda St. Amant and Luis Armando Castellanos.

Hoztile Takeover drew post 7 and will be ridden by Victor Urieta Jr.
