GRAND PRAIRIE, TX–OCTOBER 22, 2024–A total of 114 2-year-olds, topped by multiple graded stakes winner DK Marney Jess and the undefeated graded stakes winner Kempton, are entered in Friday’s Texas Classic Futurity (G1) trials at Lone Star Park.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from the 12 400-yard heats will meet in the November 16, $1-million final.

A daughter of world champion Apollitical Jess trained by Juan Diaz Jr. for owner CH Horse Racing LLC, DK Marney Jess is coming off of a fourth-place finish, three-quarters of a length behind winner Kiss My Maruska, in the October 5, $433,000 Dash For Cash Futurity (G2) at Lone Star Park. However, the bay filly boasts earnings of $484,459 from seven races in Texas and Louisiana, and her six wins include the March 30, 300-yard Louisiana Downs Futurity (G2), and the June 15, 330-yard Sam Houston Futurity (G2).

Kempton drew the rail post and will be ridden by Ali Rivera in the 11th heat.

FDD Dreams ships in from New Mexico, where the bay gelding ran third in the sport’s richest race, the September 2, $3-million All American Futurity (G1) at Albuquerque Downs.

FDD Dreams has earned $459,019 from seven starts in New Mexico, and his summer record included a second-place finish in the July 14, $1-million Rainbow Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs. The gelding drew post 10 and will be ridden by Luis Martinez in the fifth trial.
