OPELOUSAS, LA–NOVEMBER 18, 2024–Ninety-two juveniles are entered in Friday's 400-yard Evangeline Downs Futurity (G2) trials at Evangeline Downs Racetrack.

Post time for the first of 11 trials is set for 4:35 p.m. (CST). The last heat is scheduled to go off at 8:45.

Kiss My Maruska, a son of Kiss My Hocks racing for Heavy Hitters Racing Stables from the barn of trainer Juan Diaz Jr., will be making his first start since October 5, when the sorrel colt scored a half-length victory in the 400-yard, $433,000 Dash For Cash Futurity (G2) at Lone Star Park. An $88,000 purchase at last year's TQHA Yearling Sale, Kiss My Maruska has earned $523,888 from eight starts.

Kiss My Maruska drew post 7 and will be ridden by Victor Urieta Jr. in the second trial.

Ozaca Ranch's Kempton, a Grade 1-winning Kiss My Hocks colt trained by James Gonzales III, drew post 4 and will be ridden by James Flores in the third heat. Raced in three states, including Oklahoma and New Mexico, Kempton has banked $476,086 from five outs, and his four wins include a 1 1/4-length victory in the June 1, $1.086-million Heritage Place Futurity (G1) at Remington Park.

Other prominent 2-year-olds entered in Friday's trials include Reletless Politics, a gelded son of Chilitos racing for Javier Garza and Marco Ramirez. Reletless Politics has won three of his six starts -- including the 350-yard, $303,000 Firecracker Futurity (G2) at Delta Downs in July -- and he has earned $204,560.

Reletless Politics drew post 5 and will be ridden by Victor Urieta Jr. for trainer Juan Diaz Jr. in the eighth trial.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the December 21, $100,000-added Evangeline Downs Futurity final.
