PHOENIX, AZ–FEBRUARY 18, 2025–Seven 3-year-olds, led by early favorite Sweet Fire Wes, are entered in Saturday's 350-yard, $40,000 Desert Classic Derby at Turf Paradise for sophomores sired by participating stallions.
A homebred daughter of the Walk Thru Fire stallion Panama Wes racing for Fernando Canales, Sweet Fire Wes will be making the first start of her season. The filly ended her juvenile campaign with a neck victory in the December 23, $62,000 Arizona QRA Futurity (R) or state-breds.
Sweet Fire Wes drew post 4 and will be ridden by Abel Lara for trainer Adolfo Armendariz Celaya.
The Desert Classic Derby, and all Turf Paradise races, can be seen at Q-Racing Video.com.
