OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–FEBRUARY 19, 2025– Due to the winter storm impacting the state of Oklahoma and the frigid temperatures, the schooling races set to run at Remington Park this Friday, February 21, will move to Tuesday, February 25.

The track will be open for training this upcoming Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Training hours for Saturday will be communicated on Friday, pending the hourly forecast.
Remington Park will hold 16 schooling races on Tuesday for Quarter Horse, Paints, and Appaloosas.
One of the horses to watch for is the daughter of Flying Cowboy 123, Lareda. Owned by Tod and Gene Bradley, the filly sold in the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale for $300,000. She is the only horse in the group that sold for over six figures.
At least 16 other horses entered in the schooling races sold at sales for over $50,000. Tea Quila, a filly by Ivory James, sold for $87,000 at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale, while the daughter of One Famous Eagle, Phaith, sold for $85,000 at TQHA.
All Remington Park training races are held at 250 yards. The events, also known as schooling races, are utilized by trainers to prepare young two-year-olds for the start of their careers. The Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission stewards then approve a horse handling the training race professionally and in a reasonable time for pari-mutuel racing.
Remington Park will be taking entries on Friday, February 21, for the Schooling Races next Wednesday, February 26. If there are enough entries, they will also run them on the following Thursday and Friday. Please be sure to have your entries in before 10 a.m. on Friday, February 21.
