Rockin With Energy, Miss Isao Jqm Face Off In Denim N Diamonds Saturday

LOS ALAMITOS, CA–FEBRUARY 20, 2025–Rockin With Energy and Miss Isao Jqm both enjoyed stakes wins on the evening of January 5.

On that night, Parsons Family Limited Partnership’s Rockin With Energy established herself as the top mare on the grounds with a hard-fought victory in the Grade 1 Charger Bar Handicap at 400 yards. The Parsons Rock filly broke like a flash and led every step while holding off gamely local newcomer First Time For Wine.

Pedro Barbizan Santiago Leite’s Miss Isao Jqm won the Dashingly Handicap at 350 yards on that same evening. Her effort was impressive and decisive, as she was off sharply, opened a ¾ length lead by the midway point before crossing the wire a half-length ahead of Temple Court.

Rockin With Energy and Miss Isao Jqm will now headline the running of the $35,000 Denim N Diamonds Handicap for older mares at 350 yards.

To be ridden by Henry Reynoso Lopez for trainer Paul Jones, Rockin With Energy will start from post number three in her first start since the Charger Bar.

Miss Isao Jqm, to be ridden by Eduardo Nicasio for trainer James Glenn, Jr., will start from post five. This will be her second start since the Dashingly, with a runner-up effort in an allowance event on February 1 being her most recent outing.

Glenn will also saddle the outstanding Nymphette, the two-time stakes winner, who was fifth in the Charger Bar, but who has also been second twice in the Grade 1 Mildred Vessels Memorial Handicap and third in the Grade 1 Charger Bar. The winner of the $50,000 Rolling A Ranch Matron Stakes, Nymphette is always a potent finisher, but her two stakes wins have both come at 350 yards.

Temple Court, second in the Dashingly, and Budderhomesngarden, third in the Dashingly and second in the Justanold Love Handicap, are among the other top contenders in this race. Grade 1 stakes finalist Famous Cartel Jessy, West Texas Prize, Magic Folly, and Milagro Lady will complete the field.
