Retama Park will host eight training races on a non-wagering race card on Wednesday. First post is noon (CST).

SELMA, TX–MARCH 4, 2025–Hotsgirl, a $190,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate, will make her career debut on Wednesday when she heads the last of eight training races to be contested over 250 yards at Retama Park.

The training races begin at noon (CST). Parking and admission are FREE. All ages are welcome. This is a non-wagering event.

Trainer John Stinebaugh has tapped jockey Ali Rivera to ride the daughter of leading sire Favorite Cartel for owner Lana Merrick-Bailey from post-position 4.

Hotsgirl is from the first crop of Grade 1 Ruidoso Derby winner Hotsempting by Tempting Dash. Hotsempting is a half-sister to champion Hotstepper and Ed Burke Million Futurity(G1) runner-up In Hott Pursuit.

Trainer Marc Jungers will send Norman Allen's $50,000 Ruidoso Select graduate Shannanigans in that same race. The daughter of champion Jess Good Candy is out of the stakes-placed Fantastic Corona Jr mare Jess Shantastic, the dam of Ruidoso Juvenile winner Yippee Ki Yey. Shannanigans will start from the inside in Post 1.
