OKLAHOMA CITY, OK--MARCH 31, 2025--Oklahoma-bred 2-year-olds will be in the spotlight at Remington Park this weekend, as the track presents a total of 20 Remington Park Futurity (RG1) trials.
Ten 330-yard heats will be contested on Friday, followed by 10 more on Saturday. The five fastest qualifiers from each night of trials will meet in the $800,000-est. Remington Park Futurity final on April 19.
Graded stakes winner Flying Joy 1 will risk her undefeated record in the ninth of Friday's 10 trials. A sorrel daughter of Flying Cowboy 123 trained by Trey Wood for owner David R. Rogers, Flying Joy 1 has won both of her races and has earned $173,786, and she will be stretching out in distance off of her half-length victory in the 300-yard, $420,000 Oklahoma Futurity (G2) on March 22.
Flying Joy 1 was a $49,000 purchase from breeder Cuadra JM at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale. The filly drew post 8 and will be ridden by Ricky Ramirez.
Kelly Yother Equine's Beltane made her career debut with a half-length win on a sloppy and sealed track in a 300-yard Oklahoma Futurity trial on March 8. Dee Keener trains the homebred daughter of freshman sire Cyber Monday.
Beltane drew post 9 and will be ridden by Jesus Ayala in Friday's 10th trial.
Saturday's heats are topped by Randy J. Davis' Queen Sin Tacha. A daughter of Dulce Sin Tacha and a $23,000 purchase from breeder Connie Nobles at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale, Queen Sin Tacha made her debut with a head victory at odds of 18-1 in a 250-yard, $20,000 maiden-special-weight dash for Oklahoma-breds on March 16.
Queen Sin Tacha drew post 3 and will be ridden by Eugenio Navarette Jr. in Saturday's ninth trial.
