Rg Naughty Angel Will Be Looking For A Win In The Prize Classic On Sunday

MEXICO CITY, MEX–APRIL 24, 2025–The final race of the evening on Sunday’s card at the Hipodromo de las Americas is slated for the 25th annual The Prize Classic. The 300-yard stakes is for two-year-olds with a purse of $28,400.

Rg Naughty Angel is the only juvenile with an official start on his record from the ten contenders. The son of leading sire Favorite Cartel placed sixth in his trial heat to the Mexico Futurity on March 23.

Bobby D. Cox bred Rg Naughty Angel in Mexico out of the Mr Jess Perry mare All About Perri. Trainer Marlon Quezada called on jockey Alejandro Gomez to board the Rancho Las Gaviotas owned colt from post position four at 18-1 early odds.

Jockey Francisco Guerrero will mount the 5-2 morning-line favorite Fdd Star from post position six. Trained by Antonio Garcia, the son of world champion sire FDD Dynasty, has the best workout times of the ten finalists, placing second among 28 trainees on March 15.

Bred in Texas by Jerry Windham, Fdd Star is a $45,000 TQHA yearling sale graduate. Cuadra Alpuyeca owns the gelding out of Viborita by Shazoom.
