Pocatello Downs will host the Idaho Cup Futurity trialss and Spring Classic Futurity trials in nine races on Saturday.

POCATELLO, ID—MAY 3, 2025—Nine races are marked on Saturday’s card at Pocatello Downs for two sets of trials, the $30,000-estimated Idaho Cup Futurity trials and $15,000-estimated Spring Classic Futurity trials.

Twenty-seven state-bred two-year-olds are entered in the 300-yard Idaho Cup Futurity trials. The 10 fastest qualifiers from the four trial heats will meet on May 25 in the final.

M E Dulce aims to be the fastest in his first race after two impressive workouts. The son of leading first-year sire Dulce Sin Tacha is racing for owner Dave Merritt. He is conditioned by Jarrett Mills. He drew post six and will be ridden by Eric Ayala in the third trial.

Thirty-two 2-year-olds are entered in the 300-yard Pocatello Downs Spring Classic Futurity trials. Morning line favorite, Just S, is optimistic after finishing fourth in her first outing. Just S is a Utah-bred filly sired by two-time racing champion Kvn Corona.

Just S is conditioned by top trainer Sergio Canales for owner Michael K. McKell. She drew post four and will be ridden by Jesus J. Canales in the tenth and final trial.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from the five heats will meet on May 25 at the $15,000-estimated final.
