MILES CITY, MT—MAY 3, 2025—Forty-five juveniles are entered in eight trials on Saturday at the Miles City Racetrack in Montana, vying for one of ten spots in the $15,000 added Bucking Horse Sale Futurity.

Heartland Xpress, a filly by Freighttrain B, is one of the 45 two-year-olds entered in the BHS Quarter Horse Futurity Trials, scheduled to compete over 250 yards. With experience on her side, the morning line favorite aims to win her first race in the trials.

Heartland Xpress, conditioned by Robert Don Johnson, will compete in the seventh race from post position number three. Ruben E. Chavez will ride the filly for owner Brant Barley. Barbara Barley bred the bay filly in Missouri out of Bye Bye Birdy by Hawkinson.

Walkin Valiant, a stablemate of Heartland Xpress, is aiming to qualify quickly in the first race. The son of One Valiant Hero is out of Walkin Thru Ice by Walk Thru Fire.

Walkin Valiant has drawn post position number five and will be ridden by Ezekiel Barron for owner Shilo Johnson. She was bred in South Dakota by John Johnson.

The top ten fastest qualifiers will compete in the finals on May 18, for a purse of $15,000 added.
