VINTON, LA—MAY 27, 2025—A swift field of seasoned sprinters will take to the Delta Downs strip Friday night for the running of the $20,000 Delta Dash Stakes, a 250-yard showdown for Quarter Horses three years old and up.

The dash features a strong lineup of short-distance specialists, with the spotlight on Relentless Coronado, the 3-1 morning line favorite, who leads a trio of top contenders that includes Tf Jess A Eagle and C The Power.

Relentless Coronado, a four-year-old son of Hes Relentless, has quietly put together a high-class resume that makes him the horse to beat. Owned by Daniel G. Miranda and bred in Oklahoma by Reliance Ranches LLC, the sorrel gelding was a $52,000 Heritage Place yearling and has earned over $185,000 across 21 career starts.

Trained by Viviane Hill and ridden by Juan F. Garcia Jr., Relentless Coronado enters off a hard-fought second-place finish in the Grade 3 Miss Polly Classic on April 25, where he just missed in a blanket finish.

Earlier this season, he captured the Grade 2 Eastex Stakes at Remington Park with a sharp frontrunning score. Although Friday's distance is shorter than his recent starts, his early pace and class make him a formidable favorite.

Tf Jess A Eagle, second choice at 4-1 on the morning line, comes into the race in sharp form for Barraza Brothers and Sons Racing LLC and trainer Guadalupe Tristan. T

he four-year-old gelding by One Dashing Eagle out of Tf Jess A Runaway was bred in Louisiana by Tate Farms and purchased for $26,000 at the LQHBA Yearling Sale. He scored a game nose victory in the Titanium Stakes (G3) at Delta on April 25, outdueling C Tthe Power and Caliente Operator in a dramatic stretch drive.

Ridden by Leonardo Rodriguez, Tf Jess A Eagle boasts five wins and more than $116,000 in earnings, including a 3-for-11 record at Delta Downs. A multiple winner at the 250-yard distance, he has the speed and grit to be dangerous once again.

C The Power, listed at 5-1, nearly pulled off the upset in the Titanium Stakes last out and returns for another try over the same track and distance. The four-year-old gelding by Power Jam (TB) out of High Plains Prize is owned and trained by Juan M. Montoya and was bred in Louisiana by Ken O’Brien.

He has hit the board in his last four starts, including a close third-place finish two back in the SRM BOCO Stakes. With over $63,000 in earnings and proven form at Delta Downs, C the Power, to be ridden by Noe Castaneda, figures prominently if he can duplicate his last effort.
