GILLETTE, WY–JUNE 17, 2025–The spotlight will shine on a seasoned field of Wyoming-bred Quarter Horses this Friday afternoon at Energy Downs 307 Horse Racing, as Race 5 features the $27,500 Wyoming Bred Classic Stakes. Scheduled for a 5:40 p.m. MDT post time, the 400-yard dash will showcase a mix of veteran talent and emerging contenders vying for state-bred supremacy.

Leading the field is the formidable Cayenneoverthemoon, a 6-year-old mare who arrives as the race’s most accomplished runner. Trained by Tryston C. Matt and owned by Walter I. Larson, Cayenneoverthemoon boasts an impressive resume, with 15 victories in 34 starts and total earnings of $150,065.

She was bred in Wyoming by S Bar S, she is sired by Brindis Por Cayenne out of Dashmetothemoon by Apollo (TB). The mare will break from post position five under regular rider Kody Kellenberger, bringing a powerful combination of experience and class to the gate.

In pursuit of her third consecutive win at Energy Downs is Wave To Foose, a 4-year-old mare who continues to build momentum. Owned by BDS Performance Horses and trained by Skyler Greene, Wave To Foose, has made just 11 career starts, but has hit the board in nearly half of them, amassing $23,455 in earnings.

She is sired by Foose and out of Wave of Payne by Wave Carver. She draws post position three and will be piloted by Victor F. Dominguez, who aims to guide her to another front-running finish.

A compelling wildcard in the field is Vvr No Refunds, a 9-year-old veteran making her return to competition after an extended layoff. Although she has not raced since 2023, she enters Friday’s contest off two strong morning works and an unblemished record of consistency, never finishing worse than fifth in 15 career starts.

Bred from Coronas Velvet and Apollo Storm by Apollo (TB), she represents owner Anais Robles and trainer Dayson LaVanway, with Keivan Serrano taking the reins from the outside in post position nine.

With a competitive mix of experience, emerging form, and proven class, Friday’s Wyoming Bred Classic Stakes is a highlight of the meet at Energy Downs. The 400–yard distance ensures a fast-paced, high-stakes showdown where every stride matters.

Fans and bettors alike can expect a thrilling race, as these accomplished mares look to leave their mark on the 2025 Wyoming-bred stakes calendar.
