TULSA, OK–JULY 16, 2025–A standout field of 10 two-year-old Quarter Horses will square off in the $117,004.80 Grade 3 Speedhorse Quarter Horse Futurity on Saturday, July 19, at Fair Meadows.

The 350-yard final, carded as Race 8 on the program, will go off with an approximate post time of 8:55 p.m. (CDT).

Leading the field is morning-line favorite Blowin In The Wind (5-2), a gray filly by champion Kvn Corona out of Evans Express by Tres Seis, bred in Oklahoma by Mary & Jack W. Evans Jr.

Owned by Brant Barley, trained by Josue Jacob Garcia, and ridden by Juan Pulido, Blowin In The Wind blew away the field in her July 5th trial, drawing clear by 1¼ lengths while stopping the clock in 17.867 over a drying-out track at Fair Meadows. She’s compiled a record of 1-3-0 from 4 starts, earning $13,978. Her trial victory earned a 90 speed index, the highest among qualifiers.

The talented Emerald Bay (7-2), who finished third in her trial, is another strong contender. The filly by leading third-crop sire Flying Cowboy 123 out of Aqua Girl by Corona Cartel is trained by Dee Keener for Wishbone Partnership.

Jockey Mario Delgado, who has guided her to a consistent campaign of 1 win, 1 second, and 3 thirds from 5 starts, earning $32,924. A stakes-placed runner, she was narrowly defeated in the $100,000 Heritage Place Juvenile earlier this year.

Inside-drawn I Are a Cowgirl (4-1), also bred and owned by Brant Barley, adds further strength to Garcia’s barn. The Missouri-bred filly by Flying Cowboy 123 out of Black Veil by Favorite Cartel won her July 5th trial by a head in 17.982 and brings a record of 2 wins from 3 starts into the final, with a high speed index of 90. She’ll be ridden by Francisco Calderon.

Oklahoma-bred Whirlaway Ilexus (4-1), a filly by Whirlaway Red out of Ilexus Corona by Coronas Prospect, has been ultra-consistent for owner Yazmine Torres and trainer Leonardo Reza.

With 1 win and 3 seconds from 5 starts, she broke through impressively in her trial, clocking 17.936 under jockey Roman Cruz. The filly has never finished worse than third.

The Speedhorse Futurity, a fixture on the summer calendar at Fair Meadows, drew ten qualifiers from trials held July 5. The purse breakdown awards $67,277 to the winner, with checks paid down to 10th place.

The race is the evening’s centerpiece at the racetrack, whose summer meet continues through late July.
