ALBUQUERQUE, NM–AUGUST 3, 2025–A loaded 16-race program of 440-yard trials will unfold Tuesday, August 5, at The Downs at Albuquerque as 2-year-old Quarter Horses compete for the final five qualifying spots in the Grade 1, $3 million All American Futurity final.
The first post is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. (MDT). Each trial offers a purse of $10,000.
The five fastest times from Tuesday will join five qualifiers from Monday’s card to complete the 10-horse field for the prestigious final on Labor Day, September 1.
The deepest trial of the day comes in Race 14, headlined by Jc Speeding, an undefeated $50,000 supplement who has been racing against Paints in Oklahoma.
Owned by Planefun LLC and trained by Dee Keener, the double-registered son of second-crop sire Chilitos is undefeated in four starts with wins in the $238,200 Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity(G1) and the Victoria Ennis Memorial. He banked $119,341 at Remington Park this Spring.
The colt, bred in Oklahoma by Richard Joneson, drew post 4 and will be ridden by champion jockey James Flores.
Just inside of him starting in rail position is Its A Good Valentine (3-1), a son of champion Jess Good Candy from the Valiant Hero mare Valliantinecandyrocks.
Owned by J and Sm, Inc. and Ross Roark and trained by Fred Danley, the consistent gelding won the $100,000 Rainbow Juveniles and was third in the Grade 2 West Texas Futurity. Under Bryan Candanosa, he has earned $88,211.
Apolitical Valor (9-2), breaking from post 9, also enters in top form for trainer Clinton Crawford and owner MJR Investments, Ltd. The gelding by leading sire Apollitical Jess was fourth in the $1,000,000 Ruidoso QH Futurity two races back and has earned $112,061 off three wins in six starts. Jacob Enriquez will guide him.
Remarkable Cowgirl (8-1) adds depth to the field by leading third-crop sire Flying Cowboy 123 and out of Freighttrain Reba. Eric Valenzuela trains her and will tap Sergio Becerra Jr. for owners Feliz Rodriguez and Sergio Holguin. She was third in the $100,000 Ruidoso QH Juvenile in June.
Another contender, Ruse Tickle Knockout (6-1), a finalist in the Grade 2 $420,000 Oklahoma Futurity, breaks from post 6 and is entered for trainer Lewis Villafranco. The daughter of Apollitical Jess is campaigned by Mi Serenity and will be ridden by Edwin Escobedo.
In Race 1, Alepony LLC's Faust is expected to be a major factor at morning line odds of 3-1. The son of Apollitical Jess out of champion Astica is a $165,000 Ruidoso sale purchase trained by Jesus Soto.
Faust has earned over $74,000 with a win in his last start, the Rainbow QH Futurity trials, and a second-place effort in the Grade 2 West Texas Futurity. The MJ Farms-bred colt gets Bryan Candanosa back aboard.
Famous N Relentless, the 5-2 morning line favorite in Race 4, is a $50,000 supplement to the trials and enters with three wins from four starts. Bred and co- Tom Maher and co-owned with Amber Olmstead, the Hes Relentless gelding is out of the Tres Seis mare Tritoon.
He won the $100,000 Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Juvenile, is trained by Jason Olmstead, and is ridden by Ramiro Garcia. He’ll break from post 5.
Good Blue Candy will start from post 7 in Race 5. The Jess Good Candy colt, bred by Stone Chase Stables and trained by Olmstead, was a finalist in the $868,000 Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity(RG1). Hal J Earnhardt III owns the Jess Good Candy gelding out of Cap Maam Blue by Capo de Capi.
In Race 12, Ring Of Fyre offers another intriguing option at 10-1. The Kvn Corona gelding, trained by Jorge Luis Sanchez for owners Scott Branson and Jimmy Vasquez, will be ridden by Luis Martinez. Last April, he was a finalist in the Grade 2 $365,000 West Texas Futurity.
With five spots on the line in Tuesday's card, the trials at Albuquerque promise high-caliber racing and deep competition across every heat. The All American Futurity remains the sport's most coveted 2-year-old prize, and these trials will play a critical role in shaping one of the wealthiest races in Quarter Horse history.
