SUNLAND PARK, NM–FEBRUARY 11, 2026—The Valentine’s Day racing program at Sunland Park will feature a nine-race card highlighted by the $80,000 Pepsi-Cola Stakes, where a full field of ten New Mexico-bred runners aged four and up will dash 350 yards in a competitive late-afternoon showdown scheduled for approximately 3:32 PM.
Heading the field as the 3-1 morning-line favorite is the accomplished mare Flashtoglory, a six-year-old standout who continues to showcase elite consistency at the stakes level. A multiple graded stakes winner, she captured three major events during the 2025 campaign, including the G2 Lou Wooten and Sydney Valenti Stakes, the prestigious G1 New Mexico Classic Filly and Mare Championship Stakes, and the New Mexico Classic Distaff. She opened her current season with another strong performance, finishing second in this year’s edition of the G2 Lou Wooten and Sydney Valenti Stakes, pushing her lifetime earnings to an impressive $569,862.
Bred, owned, and trained by David Meridyth, Flashtoglory has developed into one of the most reliable mares on the New Mexico circuit. The daughter of First Moonflash out of Jp Glory Be by Feature Mr Jess will break from post two with Christian Ramos returning aboard as she seeks another stakes victory.
Pick Your Pour is listed as the 4-1 morning-line second choice and enters as a dangerous contender capable of upsetting the favorite if he secures a clean break. Known for his late-running kick, the six-year-old gelding has banked $441,315 for owners Orlando Granillo, Asucena Mendoza, and Rene Mendoza after being purchased for $25,000 at the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale.
Sired by Jesse James Jr and out of Tangled Viines by Dash Ta Fame, Pick Your Pour was bred in New Mexico by MJ Farms and is trained by Raul A. Beltran Moreno. He is set to leave from post nine with Jacob Enriquez taking the riding assignment.
With a deep lineup of seasoned New Mexico-breds set to contest the 350-yard sprint, the $80,000 Pepsi-Cola Stakes promises to deliver a thrilling finish and serve as a marquee attraction on Sunland Park’s Valentine’s Day racing program.
