MEXICO CITY, MEX–April 10, 2026—Adding to the weekend’s stakes action, Sunday’s program will also feature the $19,013 Clasico Chirina Glorys, a 350-yard dash for fillies and mares aged three and up. The XXV running of the race brings together a compact yet highly accomplished field of six, setting the stage for a competitive, quality-laden showdown.
Leading the lineup as the 2-1 morning line favorite is Cherry Jabuti, a filly renowned for her explosive gate speed. She stamped herself as one of the fastest runners on the grounds after setting the 250-yard track record during the 2024 Merrigo Futurity trials. Cherry Jabuti enters in peak form, having most recently captured the $17,420 Francisco Pasquel Classic, extending her career record to an impressive thirteen starts with eight wins, two seconds, and one third, while banking $42,489. Notably, she rides a six-race win streak, with four of those victories earning speed indexes above 100.
Bred by Salome Gallegos, Cherry Jabuti is sired by Jabuti Eagle SA, a son of world champion sire One Famous Eagle, and is out of T Cherry Rose, a winning daughter of Tailor This and a half-sister to graded stakes winner NC Rose. She competes for Cuadra Cartas Blancas under the conditioning of Jorge Alberto Ruiz Periban and will break from the outside post six with Huberclein Gomez aboard.
Drawing the rail as the second choice is Dk Crystal Favorite, an American Champion Three-Year-Old Filly who brings strong credentials into the race. She put together a five-race winning streak capped by her victory in the March 2026 AQHA Distaff Challenge, pushing her earnings to nearly $80,000. Bred by La Presita LLC and LJM Ranch Inc.
The filly is by Favorite Cartel and out of Corona Crystal, by Corona Cartel. Trainer Luis Enrique Cruz Solis saddles her for Cuadra La Presita, with Paul Osvaldo Rodriguez named to ride.
Despite the smaller field, the depth of talent ensures a highly competitive renewal of the Clasico Chirina Glorys, as these six accomplished fillies and mares square off over 350 yards to close out a weekend that not only highlights established runners but also ushers in the next generation through the México Futurity trials.
