VINTON, LA–May 12, 2026—The Saturday evening card at Delta Downs will feature a nine-race program with first post scheduled for 6:15 PM, building toward an exciting finale in the nightcap as the spotlight turns to the next generation of Quarter Horse stars in the $151,650 Old South Futurity.
The final race of the evening will feature the ten fastest juveniles from the April 25th trial heats as they return to sprint 330 yards in one of the most anticipated futurities of the meet. With several lightly raced but highly talented two-year-olds set to collide under the lights, fans can expect a thrilling finish as these young runners battle for futurity glory.
Trainer Viviane Hill returns with two qualifiers, led by the fastest qualifier, Be Myy Valentine. The talented filly delivered a sharp performance in the sixth trial heat, using her early speed throughout to secure the top qualifying mark.
The filly enters the futurity with only two starts under her belt after previously finishing second in her maiden prep race leading into the trials. Despite her limited experience, she has already shown tremendous promise while earning $4,800 for owners J Lazy Six Racing, who purchased her for $58,000 at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale.
Be Myy Valentine is sired by Apollitical Jess out of the Valentinecandyrocks mare Valiant Hero and was bred in Utah by McColee Land and Livestock, LLC. Hill will saddle the filly from post nine with jockey Leonardo Rodriguez returning aboard for the futurity final.
Trainer Esau H. Hernandez also qualified a pair of runners for the rich futurity, including dangerous contender Favoreson Mv. The colt rallied strongly in his trial heat to finish second behind Be Myy Valentine, beaten only one-half length in an impressive debut effort.
Prior to his first start, the colt gained valuable experience through preparations at three different racetracks, and that seasoning appeared to pay off with a professional performance in the trials. Favoreson Mv competes for Vista Del Sol Inc. and enters the final as one of the top threats to the fastest qualifier.
The colt is sired by Golden Boi out of the Reason To Fly Mv mare Good Reason SA and was bred by Paulo Otavio Freire MacEdo. Hernandez will send him from post six with jockey Adrian X. Morales aboard.
With ten talented juveniles loaded with speed, pedigree, and potential, Saturday night’s running of the $151,650 Old South Futurity promises to deliver a dramatic and competitive finish. As the young stars break from the gate under the Delta Downs lights, fans and bettors alike can expect a thrilling blanket finish in one of the biggest juvenile races of the season.
The races at Delta Downs can be watched on Q-Racing Video.
