Kindergarten Finalist My Favorite Paris Headlines $30,000 Fred Scane Handicap This Sunday

CYPRESS, CA–JUNE 5, 2026– The next chapter for the juvenile division takes center stage this Sunday night at Los Alamitos with the running of the $30,000 Fred Scane Handicap at 300 yards. A field of eight two-year-olds will enter the gate, led by Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity (G2) finalist My Favorite Paris.

Campaigning for owners Jerardo Herrera and Larry Stewart, the Favorite Cartel filly draws the outside post 8. She teams up with the top combination of jockey Irving Lara and trainer Jose Flores, a duo that has enjoyed a lot of success with young California talent this season. My Favorite Paris will look to shake off a rough trip in the May 10 Kindergarten final, where she lost her action, was out of contention early, and finished sixth. Prior to that, she flashed elite potential by winning her trial heat handily.

The only other entrant with stakes experience is Jose Mendoza Aguilar’s Cyberscurve, who steps onto the California straightaway for trainer Diego Cervantes. The Cyber Monday gelding makes his local debut with blinkers on after campaigning at Turf Paradise, where he put together a closing second in his trial before finishing fifth in the $81,000 Desert Classic Futurity.

The rest of the competitive field features recent maiden winners hunting for their breakout stakes performance. Edward C. Allred and trainer James W. Glenn Jr. hold a strong hand with a pair of sharp, homebred maiden graduates: Talker (post 6), who enters off a dominant two-length score, and Home to Stay (post 7). Completing the line-up are PYC Last Dance Cindy, Val Bamby, Top Fast Eagle, and recent maiden claiming graduate Lose Ur Cotton, a promising Paint Horse from the barn of Angela Aquino. The Fred Scane Handicap is designated as Race 8 on the card.

An allowance event for distaffers is also featured as race seven on Sunday. The field will include Grade 1 Los Alamitos Super Derby finalist Racy Favorite, Miss Princess Handicap fourth place finisher Quick She Is, and La Pacifica fourth place finisher Leavin The Cartel.
