VINTON, LA–JUNE 13, 2026–Wednesday evening at Delta Downs, the spotlight will shine on Louisiana’s talented sophomore fillies as a pair of trial heats for the $75,000-added Delta Downs Louisiana Bred Oaks headline an exciting eight-race program. First post is set for 6:15 p.m., with thirteen Louisiana-Bred 3-year-old fillies set to battle over 400 yards in races two and three for a chance to secure one of ten coveted spots in the July 11 final.
The opening trial in race two features a standout contender in Marcy Train B, who has been installed as the 1-1 morning-line favorite. The accomplished filly has continued to perform at a high level throughout her sophomore campaign. Earlier this season, she qualified for the Grade 3 $100,000 Mardi Gras Oaks after finishing third in her trial and returned in the final to finish second. She followed that effort with another runner-up finish against allowance company and enters the trials with career earnings of $224,242.
Owned by Jaime Cardenas, who purchased her for $41,000 at the LQHBA Yearling Sale, Marcy Train B has proven to be a tremendous investment. The Louisiana-bred daughter of Freighttrain B out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Jessbye Marcy was bred by Grant Farms, LLC. Trained by Josue Ponce, she will break from post three with Jorge J. Garcia aboard as she aims to establish herself as one of the leading contenders for next month's Oaks final.
The second and final trial in race three is led by the accomplished Mamma Im Leaving You, the 4-5 morning-line favorite and one of the most accomplished fillies in the field. The talented daughter of Coronas Leaving You has won three of four starts this season, including a victory in the Grade 3 $100,000 Mardi Gras Oaks. She also earned a berth in the Grade 2 Heritage Place Oaks, further demonstrating her ability against elite competition.
Owned by Jeantile M. Deville, who secured her for $33,000 at the LQHBA Yearling Sale, Mamma Im Leaving You has earned five wins in eleven career starts, banking $196,665. Bred in Louisiana by Wiggins Acres, LLC, the filly is out of the Apollitical Jess mare Mamma Jamma Jamma. Trainer Jose U. Lopez will send her out with regular rider Noe Castaneda aboard as she seeks another dominant performance and a return trip to stakes company.
With several proven stakes performers and rising stars entered in both trials, Wednesday's card promises plenty of excitement early in the evening. Every break, every stride, and every fraction of a second will matter as Louisiana’s top sophomore fillies battle for a place in the Delta Downs Louisiana Bred Oaks on July 11, where a lucrative purse and state-bred prestige await.
