EVANSTON, WY–JULY 21, 2026–Wyoming Downs will be the center of attention Thursday afternoon as a talented group of Wyoming-bred juveniles begins the road to the Ron Cook Accredited Wyoming Bred Futurity Finals. A nine-race card, with each race serving as a trial, will feature 88 two-year-olds competing for a spot in the $30,000-added Ron Cook Accredited Wyoming Bred Futurity Finals on August 8. The first trial is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., and all races will be run at 330 yards.

The top contender headlines the fifth trial as Lil Pollys Train aims to continue her impressive campaign. The filly overcame a difficult start in the $285,000 Wyoming Bred Futurity, rallying strongly in the final strides to secure a dramatic head victory. She has won two of her three career starts, with her only defeat a third-place finish in her debut, and has already earned $148,201.

Owned and bred in Wyoming by Bill Doenz, the daughter of Freighttrain B is out of the Apollitical Jess mare Political Bedlam. Josh Taylor trains the talented filly, who will break from post nine with regular rider David Alvarez, Jr., returning to the saddle.

One of her strongest challengers appears in the third trial, where Feature Mr Roger will break from post two. The gelding finished a determined third in the Wyoming Bred Futurity, just a neck behind Lil Pollys Train after another game effort. Prior to the futurity, he captured both his maiden and trial victories and has earned $30,121 in just three career starts for owner Lucero Uriel Dominguez.

The Wyoming-bred son of Legyndary is out of the Feature Mr Jess mare Feature Ms Bunny and was bred by Uriel and Calli Dominguez. Trainer Uriel Lucero Dominguez will once again team with jockey Cesar T. Moreno in an effort to secure another trip to the Ron Cook Futurity Finals.

With every race offering a coveted berth to the August 8 championship, Thursday's program promises excitement from start to finish. Eighty-eight promising Wyoming-bred juveniles will have one chance to earn their place in the $30,000-added Ron Cook Accredited Wyoming Bred Futurity Finals, making every stride down the 330-yard straightaway critical in what should be an outstanding afternoon of racing at Wyoming Downs.
