Wyoming Downs will host the Governor's Cup Quarter Horse Futurity trials on Friday's racecard.

EVANSTON, WY–JULY 22, 2026–The Friday afternoon card at Wyoming Downs will feature 10 races beginning at 3:00 p.m., highlighted by the Governor's Cup Quarter Horse Futurity Trials. A total of 99 juveniles will compete over 350 yards, each aiming to post one of the ten fastest qualifying times and earn a return trip to the $50,000-added Governor's Cup Quarter Horse Futurity final on August 9.

Six of the 99 entrants were added to the trials after paying the $4,000 supplemental fee at entry, adding even more intrigue to an already competitive day. Bigg Boi will compete as a supplement in the first race, Perikina in the second, Cowboy Favorite and Cyber Sweet Heart in the third, Dp Danger in the sixth, and Cold Truth in the eighth. Those six newcomers add depth across the ten trial heats.

Trainer Joe Davis will saddle an impressive 18 starters as he aims to send multiple runners into the championship final. His headline contender, Kissmeifyoukan, will close out the afternoon in the tenth and final trial as the 3-1 morning-line favorite. The talented filly has won two of her four career starts, highlighted by a victory in the $298,000 307HR Open Futurity, where she battled to a nose victory after leading throughout. She has earned $167,290 for owner Jose Luis Gonzalez, who purchased her for $21,000 at the Heritage Place Yearling Sale.

The Oklahoma-bred daughter of Kiss My Hocks, out of the Corona Cocktail mare Theslatesclean, was bred by H & E Ranch, Inc. She will break from post 10 with Luis A. Valenzuela in the saddle for trainer Joe Davis.

Davis will also send out Cyber Hostage in the seventh trial as the 5-2 morning-line favorite. The gray gelding has an impressive record of three wins and one second from five starts, earning $120,941. Earlier this season, he qualified for the Grade 1 $972,000 Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Futurity, finishing a game fourth, just three-quarters of a length behind the winner. Racing for Heavy Hitters Racing Stables, Cyber Hostage was a $29,000 purchase at the TQHA Yearling Sale and gives the Davis barn another serious contender.

The fourth trial features one of the afternoon's most accomplished runners, Cyber Buzz, who has been installed as the 3-1 morning-line favorite. The filly has won four of five starts and captured the $81,000 Desert Classic Futurity earlier this year. She enters off an uncharacteristic effort in the 307HR Open Quarter Horse Futurity after stumbling badly at the break, but her previous performances have established her as a standout juvenile in the region. She has earned $62,890 for owner and trainer Alex J. Torres-Casas, who purchased her for just $8,000 at the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale.

The Oklahoma-bred daughter of Cyber Monday, out of the Apollitical Jess mare Hunny Bee, was bred by Thomas J. Scheckel. Brandon M. Guevara has the call from post two as Cyber Buzz looks to return to winning form.

With 99 talented 2-year-olds spread across ten competitive trial heats, every break from the gate and every stride to the wire will matter. By the end of the afternoon, only the ten fastest qualifiers will have secured their places in the August 9 final of the $50,000-added Governor's Cup Quarter Horse Futurity, setting the stage for one of the premier juvenile events of the Wyoming Downs season.
