Nominations are due Thursday, December 15th for the 2023 Sam Houston Futurity(G2) and Sam Houston Derby(G3).

HOUSTON, TX—DECEMBER 15 2022—Nominations to the Grade 2 $450,000-est. Sam Houston Futurity and the Grade 3 $50,000-added Sam Houston Derby are due today, December 15th.

The Sam Houston Race Park Quarter Horse Meet is scheduled to begin April 21 and runs through June 17.  Racing will be conducted on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 6:15 pm. (CDT).

The Sam Houston Futurity trials will be contested over 330 yards on Saturday, May 13th and final for the $75,000 added race will run-back at Sam Houston Race Park on Saturday, June 3rd.

Horsemen may nominate American Quarter Horse foals of 2021 by paying a nomination fee of $150 on or before Thursday, December 15th.

Quarter Horse foals of 2020 may be nominated to the Sam Houston Derby on or before Thursday, December 15th for $150.

The Sam Houston Derby trials will be contested over 350 yards on Saturday, April 29th and final will run-back at Sam Houston Race Park on Friday, May 19th.
