Cowboys Gun Z held on gamely to defeat Trane Station V by half-a-length in the world's richest Quarter Horse race, the $3,000,000 Grade 1 event at Ruidoso Downs Race Track & Casino.

Cowboys Gun Z broke his maiden in the All American Futurity(G1) trials on August 12, 2023, winning by one-length while posting the fastest qualifying time on Day 2. He has now compiled a (4) 2-2-0 record and banked $1,510,000.
