Celebration Of Life For Alberta Horseman Charles Stojan Set Friday, November 29

SEXSMITH, ALB–NOVEMBER 26, 2024–Charles Gordon Stojan, 81, of Sexsmith, Alberta, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.

A Celebration of Charles’ life will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 1 p.m. (MST) at the Tara Centre (55051 Township Rd 710).

Charles was born on October 13, 1943, in Belleville, Ontario. Later in life, he became a longtime resident of Sexsmith, Alberta. Charles was the well-known business owner of Stojan Chev Olds and Stojan's Power Sports.

Charles was known for being personable and outgoing. If you met him, you knew and heard him. He was an avid outdoorsman. One of his greatest passions was raising, buying, and running Quarter Horses.

As AQHA Racing Challenge Champion Owner, he raced earners of more than $1 million in his own name. Among his top performers are Toughie ($189,83), Flight Club ($192,821), Stripsteak ($118,239), and Free Thought ($113,321).

His children will sadly miss him, Patti (Ralph) Brown, Steve (Robyn) Stojan, Jacqueline (Travis) Reay, and Jerry (Sarah) Stojan; grandchildren: Derek and Leah Brown, Rene and Drew Stojan, Traylin and Colt Reay, and Janey Stojan.

Charles was predeceased by his parents, Jerry and Irene Stojan.

Memorial donations may be made in Charles’ honor to the Alberta Quarter Horse Racing Association.
