TQHA Sent Out Reminders for 2025 Nominations, Payment and Accreditation Deadlines

ELGIN, TX-NOVEMBER 26, 2024–TQHA sent out several reminders regarding the upcoming season, including the 2025 TQHA Stallion Auction, Texas Classic Futurity, Derby and Purina Feeds Oaks nominations, TQHA Sale Futurity payment reminders.

2025 TQHA Stallion Auction starts on December 2, 2024 and closes at 12:00 pm on January 9, 2025.  As of now there are over 100 stallions that you are able to bid on.

The list includes numerous sires of Quarter Horse champions as well as many up-and-coming new sires. The entire auction will be performed online. CLICK HERE to see what sires are included in this year’s auction. Once you get to the auction site click on the box in the center that says “Click For Race Horse Auction”.

If you are looking at the site on your phone once you click on the box your screen may not change but if you scroll down you will see the stallions.  Be sure and check the site from time to time as new stallions are being added all the time.  It is very important that you click on the horse’s name to see any restrictions or additional charges that are not covered by your auction bid, like farm fees, collection fees, shipping, etc.

Payments and nomination deadlines:
Nominations for the 2025 Texas Classic Futurity G1, Texas Classic Derby G1 and Purina Feeds Texas Classic Oaks are due on January 15, 2025.  Nomination blanks can be found on the TQHA website under the Racing tab, Texas Classic Races tab.

The next $500 payment for the 2025 TQHA Sale Futurity is due on or before December 2, 2024.  If you did not make the initial nomination payment, you can late nominate on or before December 2, 2024, with a payment of $1,500.

Important Yearling and Broodmare Accreditation Deadlines:
Don’t forget to get your yearlings and in-foal broodmares that are expected to foal in Texas accredited before December 31, 2024.  If your yearlings (foals of 2023) are not accredited before December 31, 2024 the fee goes from $100 to $500! If your in-foal broodmares are not accredited by December 31, 2024 then you will miss out on breeders awards for their 2025 foals.

Remember you only have to accredit your mares one time so if your mare is already an accredited Texas Bred Broodmare there is nothing else you need to do.  If you purchased an in-foal broodmare at the Heritage Place sale earlier this month and plan to foal out that mare in Texas be sure and get her accredited even if you don’t have the papers back yet.  TQHA can check the sale results and confirm the new ownership and get them accredited.

If you have a yearling/weanling that you accredited without papers please be sure and send those papers in to the TQHA to be stamped so they can also get the name in their system. Don’t miss out on any owner/breeder/stallion awards that may be coming your way by having by not sending in your papers.

If you have any questions feel free to reply call the TQHA at 512-458-5202 or email ssherwood@tqha.com.
