TUCSON, AZ—FEBRUARY 24, 2022—Angel Valenzuela’s Shez Our Jess is one of 12 runners entered in Saturday’s 400-yard Wayne Brasher Memorial Bonus Challenge trials at Rillito Park.
A 4-year-old daughter of the First Down Dash stallion Hez Our Secret trained by Jim Crotts, Shez Our Jess will be making her season debut. The gray mare ended her sophomore campaign with a runner-up placing in the December 23, $57,000 AQRA Turf Paradise Open Derby.
Shez Our Jess has won four of nine starts and has banked $40,432. The mare drew post 5 and will be ridden by Michael Ybarra in the second of two trials.
The eight fastest qualifiers will meet in the March 19, $45,000-added Wayne Brasher Memorial Bonus Challenge final.
