Stakes Winner Secretarysbestcard Headlines John Deere Emerald Juvenile Challenge Trials
BY MICHAEL CUSORTELLI
AUBURN, WA–JULY 25, 2024–Secretarysbestcard, a daughter of the Corona Cartel stallion Docs Best Card racing for JBC Stables, is one of 15 2-year-olds entered in Sunday's 350-yard John Deere Emerald Juvenile Challenge trials at Emerald Downs.
Secretarysbestcard ships in from Grants Pass Downs in southern Oregon, where she won both of her outs, including the 350-yard, $83,000 Firecracker Futurity on the Fourth of July. Tiffani McDevitt trains the Oregon-bred filly.
Secretarysbestcard drew post 7 and will be ridden by Jose Guerrero in the first of two trials. Her six opponents in the first heat include Mighty Panama T, a homebred daughter of the Walk Thru Fire stallion Panama Wes owned and trained by Jose Luis Torres. Mighty Panama T is coming off of a second-place finish, three-quarters of a length behind Secretarysbestcard, in the Firecracker Futurity.
Mighty Panama T drew post 4 and will be ridden by Eddie S. Garcia.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the August 18, $30,000-added final.
