Fastest Qualifier Fire Eat N Cowboy Draws Post 2 for $217,678 Oklahoma Derby

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK–MARCH 21, 2024–Paragon Farms LLC's Fire Eat N Cowboy, a homebred Flying Cowboy 123 gelding and the fastest qualifier, is one of 10 sophomores entered back in Saturday's 350-yard, $217,678 Oklahoma Derby (G3) at Remington Park.

Fire Eat N Cowboy made his season debut with a neck victory in the third of six trials on March 10. Trey Wood trains the sorrel gelding.

Fire Eat N Cowboy drew post 2 and will be ridden by Ricky Ramirez.

Other contenders include Eyesa Freighttrain B, a son of Freighttrain B trained by Mauricio Lopez for owner Party Tyme Racing. Eyesa Freighttrain B has earned $518,378 from nine races, and he's won four races, including last year's Louisiana Breeders' Laddie Futurity (RG2) for state-bred colts and geldings at Delta Downs.

Eyesa Freighttrain B drew post 9 and will be ridden by James Flores.
