First-Crop Sire Jd Wagon Boss Gets First Black-Type Stakes Winner

PARKLAND COUNTY, AB–AUGUST 2, 2022–Westhills Equine Veterinary Services' Jd Wagon Boss was represented by his first two black-type stakes horses on Sunday, including stakes winner Sizzling Wagon, the wire-to-wire winner of the  $49,713(US) John Deere Evergreen Park Juvenile Challenge at Grand Prairie Racetrack.

Glenn Willis' 2-year-old filly led all the way in the 350 yard contest, winning by half-a-length in :18.458 seconds into a 20 mph headwind. The Alberta homebred, out of Northfork Sizzle by SIzzlin Red Corona, is trained by Buckey Stockwell. She earned $19,024(US) for the effort,

Northfork Boss, also a 2-year-old by Jd Wagon Boss, finished third in the John Deere Evergreen Park Juvenile Challenge to give the sire his second black-type.

From limited starters in his first-crop to race Jd Wagon Boss has sired three starters.1 winner, 1 stakes winner and 1 stakes-placed. He is currently tied as the #2 Leading First-Crop Sire of Stakes Winners with Pyc Fun N Fancy, Gronkowski and Paint My Pilot.

Owned-and-raced by Buckey Stockwell, Jd Wagon Boss won or placed in 16 races and earned $75,175. Named the 2018 AQHA Canada Hi-Point 3-Year-Old Colt he won the John Deere Evergreen Park Juvenile Challenge, was second in the John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship(G2), Evergreen Park Championship Challenge, Grand Prairie Sprint Stakes and third in the Peace County Derby.
