Heza Fast Dash LineBreeding/InBreeding Yields Success

DALLAS, TX—MARCH 21, 2016—As a rule of thumb targets for inbreeding or linebreeding should be superior performers and/or producers, should be sound and should have good conformation and temperament.

There is no doubt that Heza Fast Dash is a superior sire, in fact he undoubtedly ranks among the best stallions in the industry over the past five years, and was the 2013 Leading Sire of Money Earners. He has sired 410 winners, 44 stakes winners, with earnings in excess of $22.5 million and average earnings per starter of more than $38,500.

As a runner, Heza Fast Dash showed considerable speed as a two-year-old, winning the Blue Ribbon Futurity(G2) in his second career start then setting the fastest qualifying in the Remington Park Futurity(G1). Unfortunately he suffered a chip in that race and lost the $415,536 Remington Park Futurity final by half-a-side to eventual world champion Oak Tree Special.

Heza Fast Dash completed a three-year race career at (18) 3-5-3 with $136,123 in earnings. However, his supporters would admit even though he was of smaller build than his successful brothers and sisters, he had great conformation and temperament.

Over this past weekend Heza Fast Dash sired the winner of the $276,000 Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2) at Louisiana Downs on Sunday and the winner of the $50,000 SLM Big Daddy Stakes at Remington Park Saturday night.

A look into the female lines on both these stakes winners will find the stallion's female line cropping up in various places.

SLM Big Daddy Stakes
Fast Prize Angie, a daughter of the aforementioned Oak Tree Special from the Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity winner Fast First Prize, a sister to Heza Fast Dash, was purchased in the 2008 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale for $50,000 by Burnett Ranches, LLC, James Pruitt and Brad Hart.

However, as the brevity of her race record indicates, she was not the soundest of individuals while making only two career starts at Lone Star Park. She was second in a maiden race then finished last in a trial for the Texas Classic Futurity(G1). She earned $1,000.

Dr. Phillip Deville purchased Fast Prize Angie and made a decision to breed her for her first foal to her dam's full brother, Heza Fast Dash. The resulting foal was Dash For A Prize, winner of the SLM Big Daddy Stakes at Remington Park Saturday night.

The bay gelding won the Grade 3 Dash For Cash Derby at 3 and since has finished second in the Grade 1 All American Gold Cup and Miss Polly Classic(G3) and third in the Championship at Sunland Park(G1), Zia Park Championship(G1) and Downs at Albuquerque Fall Championship.

The 5-year-old has compiled a (23) 6-6-4 record and earned nearly $275,000. In 2016 he is (2) 1-0-1 with $61,730 banked.

Deville took Fast Prize Angie's back to Heza Fast Dash for her third foal, also a gelding by Heza Fast Dash, Prize Wining Dash who had two wins to 3, 2015 with earnings of $35,004. He was a finalist to LQHBA Sale Futurity(RG1) at 2.

Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2)
On Sunday Rdd Lajollanfastdash got his second win in as many starts in the $276,000 RG2 Mardi Gras Futurity at Louisiana Downs. The gelding has won his two official starts by nearly six lengths, pretty amazing when you are only going 300 yards!

A $10,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate, RDD Lajollanfastdash was bred in Louisiana by Richard Dale Domingue. His dam is a placed daughter of Streakin La Jolla who also produced 2012 Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2) finalist RDD Fishers Favorite ($48,172).

The second dam, a daughter of all-time leading sire First Down Dash, was 4th in the Grade 2 PCQHRA Derby and is a sister to G1 winners Check Her Twice and Dash To Chivato, RG3 winner First Femme and RG1-placed Fishers Dash.

The second dam's sire, First Down Dash, is a full-brother to Heza Fast Dash's dam First Prize Dash. It's rare when full siblings are both dominate forces in the industry, but this pair have both left their stamp.

Everyone knows First Down Dash is the all-time leading sire of everything with more than $80 million race earners.

First Prize Dash, who is also the third dam of the aforementioned Dash For A Prize, is a former Broodmare of the Year and the dam of 29 ROM and 28 winners from 34 foals to race.

The daughter of Dash For Cash produced four Grade 1 winners and one Grade 1 placed winner. She has a total of six stakes winners and four stakes-placed foals. First Prize Dash produced the winner's of the Heritage Place Futurity(G1), Remington Park Futurity(G1)-twice, Blue Ribbon Futurity(G2), and runner-up in the Texas Classic Futurity(G1), etc.

Her daughters and granddaughter have produced such horses at Rainbow Futurity(G1) winner Ms First Prize Rose; Remington Park Futurity winner Coronado Cartel; West Texas Futurity(G1) winner Fast Prize Zoom; AQHA Racing Distance Challenge Championship(G1) winner Cr Tuckernuck; Remington Park Futurity(RG3) winner Im A Fancy Pyc, and many, many more.

Edwin Anthony, a Thoroughbred pedigree expert said "...it is not the fact that inbreeding or linebreeding is present, but how it occurs is paramount."

Heza Fast Dash stands at Robicheaux Ranch Inc., near Breaux Bridge, Louisiana for a 2016 fee of $8,000.
