Francisco Calderon Continues Earnings Record Spree, Tops $6 Million

DALLAS, TX–NOVEMBER 27, 2023–Champion jockey Francisco Calderon continued his record breaking season over the weekend when his 2023 earnings total topped $6 million dollars.

Nearly a month ago the 29-year-old surpassed G.R. Carter, Jr.'s all-time seasonal record of $5,019,594 after riding  Valeriano Racing’s Trane Station V to victory in the 2023 Golden State Million Futurity(G1) on October 29.

Earlier this month the jockey rode Dark Nme to victory in the Texas Classic Futurity at Lone Star Park to give him his eighth Grade 1 win this year.

His other wins include the Rainbow Futurity(G1) aboard Dark NME, two Grade 1 wins aboard Danjer (before the AQHA World Champion passed away earlier this year), Sicario V in the Rainbow Derby, Trane Station V in the Golden State Million Futurity and Flash Bak in the Downs at Albuquerque Fall Championship.

Through, November 26th, Calderon has ridden 104 winners from 543 mounts this year with earnings of $6,023,010. He still has two additional Grade 1 races next month with mounts in the Champion of Champions(G1) and Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity.
