Sam Houston Race Park joins forces with CenterPoint to help Houstonians recoup after the storms hit on Thursday.

HOUSTON, TX–MAY 18, 2024–Nearly 500 first responders from CenterPoint have stepped up at the disaster staging area in Northwest Houston to help Houstonians recoup from the storms on Thursday and Sam Houston Race Park will be offering assistance on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19.

When storms hit on Thursday night, CenterPoint began immediately deploying its emergency activation/response team. 200 trucks and crews began arriving Friday morning at Sam Houston Race Park, where they got their daily assignments to help restore power to Houston residents. They will continue their efforts throughout the weekend.

Sam Houston Race Park is offering the First Responders free admission into the Josh Ward concert scheduled for Saturday night after the races.
