Quarter Horse racing will return to the historic Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots in New Orleans on August 15.

NEW ORLEANS, LA–JUNE 13, 2024–Quarter Horses are set to return to the historic Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots in New Orleans in August with an estimated stakes schedule valued at $1.2 million.

The 15-day meeting will open on Thursday, August 15, and run through Saturday, September 14. Live Quarter Horse racing will be featured on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

The closing weekend will be highlighted by the restricted Grade 1 LQHBA Sale Futurity, estimated at $600,000 ($200,000 added), and The Big Easy Futurity, estimated at $150,000 ($50,000 added).

The Big Easy Futurity, open to all American Quarter Horse foals of 2022, trials are slated for Friday, August 23 (CLICK HERE FOR NOMINATION BLANK).

Louisiana Quarter Horse Racing is zero tolerance for Clenbuterol and Albuterol. Please see Nomination Blanks as overnight Stakes and Stakes Trials require a negative HAIR TEST.
