Ruidoso Downs announced five major Labor Day weekend races will all be scheduled for Monday, September 2nd to be run at Downs of Albuquerque.

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM–AUGUST 12, 2024–Ruidoso Downs Race Track General Manager Rick Baugh has announced that the five major Labor Day weekend races will all be scheduled for Monday, September 2nd to be run at Downs of Albuquerque.

"This gives horse owners and trainers plenty of time to attend the All American Horse Sales here on Friday and Saturday,"Baugh said. "We’re currently working to put together a final schedule for Labor Day that will include our four Grade-1 stakes races."

The Labor Day race card will include the $3 million All American Futurity, $1 million All American Derby, $625,000 All Ameircan Oaks, $250,000 All American Gold Cup and $100,000 All American Invitational.

Ruidoso Downs Race Track has an agreement with the Cowboy Channel to broadcast the races nationwide. First post for Labor Day has been tentatively scheduled for 1 p.m. (MDT).
