BOSSIER, LA–OCTOBER 10, 2024–Louisiana Downs in Bossier City, La., announced the promotion of Roxanne Tanner to Director of Racing. Tanner has been with the track for nearly three years and previously served as the Racing Ambassador. She brings years of experience and a passion for the racing industry to her new role.
Tanner’s well-rounded background includes roles both on the front side and backside at some of the most prestigious tracks in the country, including Arlington Park, Churchill Downs, Prairie Meadows, and Oaklawn Park.
Track owner Kevin Preston expressed his enthusiasm for Tanner’s promotion: “I’m excited to announce Roxanne Tanner, who you all know as our Racing Ambassador and the face of Racing for us at LAD, will be taking a promotion to be our Director of Racing. I couldn’t be more proud of Roxanne and all she’s done so far at the property, and I'm looking forward to her next chapter with us. Her knowledge, experience, and relationships will help carry Louisiana Downs as we continue to make improvements and enhancements to our iconic track.”
As Director of Racing, Tanner will oversee all racing operations and work closely with staff, horsemen, and stakeholders to ensure Louisiana Downs continues to deliver a premier racing experience for fans and participants alike.
“I’m appreciative for each experience I’ve had within the industry to get me to this point,” Tanner said. “I’ve been very blessed to work with some amazing people in my racing career. Since day one with Louisiana Downs, Kevin Preston and his team have been very supportive of my goals, both racing and personally, and I look forward to achieving new goals with this historic race track.”
Louisiana Downs looks forward to the future under Tanner’s leadership as the track continues to grow. The track recently concluded a successful Thoroughbred Meet, the 50th year of racing at the popular Bossier City facility.
