SAN ANTONIO, TX–NOVEMBER 4, 2024–The Texas Horse Racing Hall of Fame Board of Directors is pleased to announce Melinda Pettigrew as its new Executive Director. Pettigrew will advance the Hall of Fame's mission, enhance its impact within the broader horse racing industry, and foster stronger community involvement.
As Executive Director, Pettigrew will oversee daily operations and work closely with stakeholders to elevate the organization's stature. Her extensive background in the equine industry, along with decades of experience across various breeds and disciplines, uniquely positions her to guide the Hall of Fame’s growth.
The Board has entrusted Pettigrew with the important task of increasing participation and industry engagement while ensuring that the Hall of Fame continues to honor the contributions of horse racing legends in Texas.
"We are thrilled to have Melinda lead the organization during this pivotal time,” said Tommy J. Azopardi, Chairman of the Board. “Her experience and passion will drive the Hall of Fame to new heights, and her efforts will breathe new life into our mission of celebrating the achievements of those who have shaped the horse racing industry."
