Sandy Ridge At Red Mile Stall Applications Now Open

LEXINGTON, KY–JANUARY 21, 2025–Kentucky's only Quarter Horse meet is set to return to the Bluegrass State in March for the third consecutive year at Sandy Ridge Racing at The Red Mile.

The 2025 meet at The Red Mile will take place on March 16, 17, 18, and March 23, 24, 25 in Lexington, Kentucky. The condition book lists an average of $215,000 in purses per day, and stall applications are currently being accepted through February 27.

"2024 showed improvement from the first meet in 2023," said Racing Secretary Mike Anifantis. "We saw larger field sizes and better quality horses coming to compete in Lexington last year at Sandy Ridge. With the amount of calls and communication from horsemen thus far, we are expecting an even bigger and better year in 2025."

The race meet at The Red Mile is operated by Revolutionary Racing Kentucky, which began construction in late September 2024 on a new $10 million Quarter Horse racing venue in Ashland, Kentucky. They plan to request race dates for 2026 from the Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Corporation.

The stall applications can be found at https://sandysgaming.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Binder1.pdf. Once completed, they can be emailed to mike.anifantis@sandysgaming.com.

Applications may also be printed, completed, and mailed to Sandy’s Gaming, Attn: Racing Secretary, 10775 U.S. Route 60, Ashland, KY 41102
