WAYNE, OK–FEBRUARY 13, 2025–StallioneSearch.com presents the 2025 Stallion Sire Profile series with a spotlight on leading sire Flying Cowboy 123. The son of all-time leading sire Apollitical Jess has led the charts every year at stud since his foals hit the tracks in 2023. He is standing at Royal Vista Ranches for the 2025 season, and his fee is set at $25,000.

Flying Cowboy 123 shattered the All-Time Leading First Crop Sire in 2023 with an astounding 50 winners, 17 stakes wins (nine were graded), and money earners over $4.3 million. Champion One Famous Eagle established the previous record in 2012 when he sired 26 winners (71 starters) with earnings of $2,926,178. 

Only three other first-crop stallions have broken the $2 million mark since One Famous Eagle set the record at $2.9 million in 2012.

Not only was two-time champion Flying Cowboy 123 the 2023 Leading First-Crop Sire, but he also broke the record in 2024 as the All-Time Leading Second Year Sire. The talented stallion sired 97 winners, 17 stakes wins (five were graded), with money earners of nearly $5.4 million. He was the only second-year-sire to transcend the $1 million dollar mark in 2024.

Flying Cowboy 123 surpassed his sire Apollitical Jess as the top all-time second-year sire of money earners, who sired over $3.6 million in 2015. Pyc Paint Your Wagon was the only other sire (in 2011) with over $3 Million from his second crop to race.

In 2025, Flying Cowboy 123 is already leading the third-year-sire charts at #1 with $74,000 in earnings and two winners, including Space Cowboy 123 and Astronomical 123, who broke their maidens in January.

From only three crops to race, the young stud has sired a total of 123 winners, 22 stakes winners, and 20 stakes placed from 208 starters. His progeny has earned nearly $10 million from his first two crops to race, with an average of over $46,700 per starter, and they are looking great in their third season on the track.

Flying Cowboy 123 sired an All American Futurity(G1) winner and champion, Cowboys Gun Z ($1,548,344) and in his first crop and the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity [G1] winner Lethal Cowboy 123 SI 92 ($976,567) from his second crop to race.

Ranking in the top three sires of sale horses from each crop to race, Flying Cowboy 123's progeny grossed over $7 million in 2023 sales and nearly $7.4 million in 2024. In 2025, his yearlings topped the charts at the Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale

In 2023, Whitmire Ranch purchased all-time leader Flying Cowboy 123 from owner Tom Lipar's Paragon Farms, LLC. The young stallion had just gotten his first milestone with over $1 million in earnings by mid-June.

Bred by Carolyn Bay, Flying Cowboy 123 was named the AQHA Racing Champion 2-Year-Old Colt in 2018 and Champion 3-Year-Old Colt in 2019. He won or placed in 11 of 13 career starts and earned $951,811. He won the Texas Classic Futurity(G1) and Texas Classic Derby(G1), was third in the All American Derby and Rainbow QH Futurity, and was a finalist in the Rainbow QH Derby.

Lipar paid $100,000 for the colt at the 2017 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. He is out of Hot Cash 123 by Takin On The Cash. An AQHA Racing Dam of Distinction, she is also the dam of AQHA Racing World Champion Cold Cash 123, a 13-time winner of  $1,409,781, stakes winner Tough Dynasty, and stakes-placed Lady Eagle 123.

His sire Apollitical Jess, the #1 all-time leading living sire, has sired 773 winners, 147 stakes winners (14%), earners of over $75 million and average earnings per starter of more than $68,800, including the 2022 AQHA Racing World Champion Empressum.

Flying Cowboy 123 is a half-brother to three black-type including world champion Cold Cash 123 SI 106 ($1,409,781), Rainbow Juvenile winner Tough Dynasty 123 SI 93 ($54,320), Lady Eagle 123 SI 93 ($23,000 at 2, dam of stakes winner Buymyladyacorona SI 111, $74,390 and Los Alamitos Juvenile runner-up R Ladys Dynasty SI 93, $98,741), etc.

His dam Hot Cash 123, by Takin On The Cash, is a Dam of Distinction and All-Time Leading Dam of ROM. She is half-sister to six black type horses, including stakes winners Overpowerd and Hot Hugger.
