The eventual winner, PK Pure Rogue, arrived from Louisiana after finishing in second place at the Louisiana Champions Day Classic Stakes (G2) in his previous race. In 2024, the gelding, owned by Jose H. Rodriguez, achieved three significant victories in restricted graded stakes, including the Open Me A Corona Stakes (RG2), Vals Fortune Stakes (RG2), and Opelousas Stakes (G3) in Louisiana.
