Quarter Horses will begin training over the Sam Houston Race Park surface April 15, 2025.

HOUSTON, TX–APRIL 5, 2025– Quarter Horses will be allowed on track on April 15 to begin training for the 2025 Sam Houston Race Park live Quarter Horse meet.

The 2025 live Quarter Meeting will begin Thursday, April 24, and continue through Saturday, June 14.

"We’re looking forward to your arrival for the Quarter Horse meet," Sam Houston Racing Office manager Shyrl Hopkins said in an email this week. "Contact the racing office for further questions or concerns at (281) 807-8780. The stall office phone number is (281) 807-8897."

Horsemen who have completed their stall applications can begin moving onto the track backside on Monday, April 14.

Current Backside entry policies:

> 30-day health certificate - All Breeds that include EHV-1 vaccine
   information given at least 14 days from the date of entry but no
   more than 90 days without a booster. If more than 90 days,
   include booster information
> 6 Month Coggins for ALL Breeds
> 12 Month Piroplasmosis for AR, QH, PT & Apps

Sunday and Monday – Track Closed
Tuesday thru Saturday – 6:30 am to 10:30 am

Break: 8:30 am to 9 am

Gates Available:
Tuesday thru Saturday – 7:30 am to 10:30 am
Thursday’s Gates are set at 250 yds at 10:30

Paddock Schooling:
Tuesday thru Friday – 10:30 am to 12:00 Noon
